BORN October 9, 1928, in Fayetteville, NC, son of textile workers.
EDUCATION:
Graduated from Spartanburg High (SC), 1947.
Attended North Greenville Jr. College, 1947-1949 (now North Greenville Baptist College).
Graduated from East Texas Baptist College (East Texas Baptist University), 1954, BA degree.
Graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1959, BD degree (now designated as Master of Divinity degree).
Trained in Interim Ministry, 2000.
SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE:
Became a Christian at age 10, and baptized into the fellowship of Drayton Baptist Church, Drayton, SC.
Called to preach, by the Lord, and licensed December 29, 1946.
Ordained to the gospel ministry, March 8, 1953.

Pastored churches in Texas and Oklahoma, 1952-1960.
